While you are busy loving the cooler air and your pumpkin spice lattes, take a few moments to update your your beauty routine for fall and winter. Changing temperatures mean your skin has different needs than it did during the warm summer months. My five tips below will keep you skin looking it’s best, even in the coldest climate.
Drink water! I say this all the time, but water is the best thing you can do to hydrate your skin. You skin is a living organism that needs water to perform at its best. It is my number 1 must-do to keep your skin hydrated.
Do a light exfoliation twice a week. In winter, dry skin skills build up quicker than they do in the summer. A light exfoliation twice a week will remove those dry, dead skin cells and keep you skin looking fresh.
Do a moisture mask once a week. Winter wind can be brutal on skin. Take 20 minutes once per week to add a mask to your beauty routine, preferably after exfoliation. I personally use Natura Bisse Oxygen Finishing Mask. It leaves my skin feeling super soft! I have also tried Freeman Skin Silkening Mask and Ahava Hydration Cream Mask and loved the results I got from those as well.
Add in a Beauty Oil. Beauty oils are a great way to add additional moisture to your skin. One of my favorites on the market is The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum-In-Oil. I use it every night and my skin looks so amazing in the mornings. I could tell the difference only after a few uses. Other top rated options are Boscia Tsubaki Beauty Oil, and Fresh Seaberry Moisturizing Face Oil
Don’t forget the sunscreen! It’s hard to think about protecting your skin from the sun when it’s 30 degrees outside but it’s a must. I use L’Oréal Advanced Suncare Silky Sheer Face Lotion SPF 30. It’s light weight, non greasy and doesn’t clog my pores.
