Texture Talk: Wearing Denim and Velvet

One of the biggest trends this fall season is texture mixing; the idea of paring unlikely fabrics for a unique look. One of personal favorite fall pairings is denim and velvet. I love the juxtaposition of taking something luxurious and formal (velvet) and wearing it with a very casual denim fabric. For this look, I am wearing a Gap bleached denim shirt (similar here) with a velvet skirt from Ann Taylor (similar here). For accessories, I am wearing my newest Marc by Marc Jacobs bag with these amazing Marc Jacobs shoes I found on The Real Real. My large, oversized sunnies from Fantas Eyes (similar here) are a staple for me. All in all, this look came together just like I imagined; classic and interesting.
