SummerStyleLogo

Yay to summer for finally getting here! When thinking about this summer’s hottest trends, I love the fact that they are easy to incorporate in anyone’s style. Summer is a time to be laid back, but you can do so with some serious style. I have selected 6 of this summer’s hottest trends to share how you can make them work for you.

A Signature Hat

Besides being a style statement, a signature hat will protect your face from harmful UV rays. Find one that works for you. take an afternoon to go to your local shopping center and try on a few to see which style will work for you.

Comfort Flats

Birkenstock has been mastering this for years, but runway designers recently embraced the idea of a comfort flat in their spring summer collections. Prada recent debuted their own version of the comfort flat for $390, but you can still with classic Birkenstock’s for $300 less.

Go girly and retro with this trend. I adore this choice from Choies! it’s super fun and can work with a variety of looks. You can also see other great options here and here.

Ripped Denim

You can not walk into any fashion conscious store and not find ripped denim. I picked a pair of raw denim shorts from Gap because love the worn in, comfortable look. Plus, since they are on sale for $35 my wallet will be happy too.

Crisp White

Crisp White will literally never go out of style. But this season, designers decided to show more of it on the runway. Three Dots makes some of the most comfortable clothing on the planet and their Spaghetti-Strap Maxi Dress is no exception. This dress has endless possibilities on styling options, making it one of those items you will wear over and over again.

Mixed Prints

I have been mixing prints since middle school. So I am happy to see that this trend is sticking around for a few seasons. Take some inspiration from the Whit Spring 2014 Ready-to-Wear Collection; Black and white stripes mixed with colorful, printed top. You can also take a look at my tips on Pattern Mixing 101 to give you some simple guidelines to follow.
