One of the great things about the SAG awards is that actors come together to celebrate and acknowledge the achievements of their peers. The show is all about the actors. No writer, director or cinematography awards; Just actors. This SAG awards red carpet was dicey for me. A combination of some really great looks, some “Yikes” and some that were on the fence for me. Let’s break down the looks:
Amy Adams in Antonio Berardi at the 2014 SAG Awards
I love, love, love the neckline on this dress! Plus, the color is amazing! I also think styling the dress without a necklace was a perfect choice!
Julia Roberts in a Valentino jumpsuit at the 2014 SAG Awards
Julia+Valentino+a Jumpsuit = Perfection. She looks comfortable, chic, and completely at ease!
On the Fence
Jennifer Lawrence in Christian Dior, Brian Atwood and Jennifer Meyer at the 2014 SAG Awards
Claire Danes in Vionnet, Jimmy Choo, Tod’s and Forevermark Diamonds at the 2014 SAG Awards
Quick! I need a pair of scissors to chop off the black, sheer fabric. Once removed, this is an amazing dress. The black, sheer fabric is distracting and unnecessary.
Kerry Washington in Prada and Harry Winston at the 2014 SAG Awards
I applaud her bravery for wearing a crop top while pregnant, but, this look seems forced. Risque for the sake of risque. Most of the dresses Kerry wears on the red carpet don’t show her mid-section. So it seems a little out of character for her to show it now.
Mariah Carey at the 2014 SAG Awards
Mariah looks cheap and like she is trying WAY to hard to look younger. The dress looks like it’s from Forever 21’s 10.90 section AND she has on fishnets, people! To make matters worse, she has on leather fingerless gloves.
Ring! Ring! Mariah picks up the phone.
The 90’s: Hi Mariah! It’s me, the 90’s. Yeah listen, can I have those clothes back you wore to the SAG awards?
Mayim Bialik at the 2014 SAG Awards
Mayim is hilarious on the Big Bang Theory. This outfit however, is not funny.
Cate Blanchett in Givenchy and Chopard at the 2014 SAG Awards
The sequin panels hanging in the front are awful, no? I think Cate and Kerry should switch dresses!
Kelly Osbourne in Zac Posen
I adore Zac Posen. He is an amazing designer and draper, but there is just something about when he collaborates with Kelly Osbourne on red carpet dresses that just doesn’t work.
