I love waking up in the morning and making smoothies for my family. The key to making the smoothie process fast and easy is having a recipe and prepping ingredients the night before. A family favorite of ours is the Blueberry Power Smoothie. Combining blueberries with cranberry juice, strawberries and bananas create a smoothie filled with antioxidants, fiber, vitamin C, potassium and flavor.
1 cup of frozen Blueberries
1/2 cup of fresh strawberries
1 medium banana
3/4 cup of no sugar added cranberry juice
Mix all ingredients in a blender until smooth
(about 60-90 seconds)
If buying fresh strawberries, cut the stems off the night before, and store in the fridge. This will help the morning process go much faster.
For optimal results, never blend your smoothie the night before. Trust me. I have tired this and the results were not near as good as making it fresh and drinking it right away.
If possible, use a high quality blender. I have a Ninja BL700 Kitchen System and it’s perfect for smoothies and a host of other things.
