You may not have known his name, but there is a good change you have seen model, actor and rapper Sam Sarpong. He was the face of Tommy Hilfiger for over eight years and is one of only three black male models ever to sign an exclusive contract with a designer alongside Tyrese and Tyson Beckford. Sam has modeled for top designers such as Gucci, Versace, Jean Paul Gaultier, DKNY, and Jean Phillippe. He’s acted in over sixty movies and TV series including Anchor Baby, 24 and Love Don’t Cost A Thing. His talent doesn’t end there; Sam is also a rapper. You can listen to a sample of his single “Fire” here or listen to samples for the album “Sam Sarpong Aka Future : On 1 Compilation Ft. Keyvous” here.
So what has Sam been up to recently? He just finished hosting the BET awards pre-show (View Photos Below). This Fall he will co-star alongside Tiny Lister in the film, “No Weapons” and will also co-star with 90210 star, Matt Houston, in the film “Trigger.” Look for Sam this fall on the TV series “Average Dad” and “My Name is Earl.” As for modeling, he will star in the Nike Basketball Back to School Campaign. As if he hasn’t been busy enough, he will release his EP, “Loose My Mind” later this year. The soundtrack is currently featured on the VH1 hit show ” Hit the Floor” and the “Scary Movie 6” soundtrack along with his song “Thunder”.
He is an excellent representation of young Hollywood and I am looking forward to all of his future endeavors!
