Curls are big news these days. If you flick through the pages of glossy magazines, you’ll notice just how many models have long, curly locks. It can be hard to copy this look if you don’t know what you’re doing. Sure, you could visit a salon and get your hairdresser to help you out. But that is the most expensive option. To keep costs at a minimum, it’s best to do your curls at home. You’ll be surprised at just how easy it is!
Here are five different ways to get those curls you’ve always wanted.
This method works on all types of hair. For this, you’ll need some heat protection spray and a pair of curling tongs, like Conair Spiral Styler Curling Iron. While your tongs are heating up, spray your hair with plenty of the heat protection hair. This will prevent the process damaging your locks and giving you unsightly split ends. Divide your hair into sections and curl each section of hair around the irons. After a couple of minutes, unwrap your hair and watch it fall out as beautiful curls!
There are many different types of hair rollers. Hot rollers use heat to curl your hair quickly. Velcro and foam rollers take slightly longer for your hair to set. You can also buy different sizes. Small rollers will give you tight curls while larger ones will give you more loose and wavy curls. Some rollers require you to use them on wet hair. If this is the case, you are meant to leave them in until your hair is completely dry. If so, you will need to ensure you have plenty of time!
Scrunch Your Hair
This is probably the simplest and cheapest method. Wash and condition your hair. Once you’re out of the shower, towel-dry your hair and then brush through it with a wide-toothed brush or comb. Apply some mousse and then simply scrunch your hair in your hands. This will create a lot of natural waves and curls. Now you have the choice of leaving your hair to dry naturally or blasting it with a hair-dryer.
Braid Your Hair
This is another method you can do straight out of the shower. Just like in the previous point, you need to towel-dry and brush your hair. Then, split your hair into sections and braid each section. The smaller the sections are, the tighter your curls will be. Leave the braids in until the hair is dry. Ideally, leave them in overnight. Once you take them out, your hair will by super curly!
Plop Your Hair
Plopping is a big trend right now. When you get out of the shower, instead of towel-drying your hair, you need to wrap it in a turban on your head. A long-sleeved t-shirt is perfect for this. You then need to leave this on for as long as possible, ideally overnight. Once you take your turban off, you’ll find a head full of curls!
Now you know these great tips, you’ll never have straight hair again!
