There’s nothing worse than wearing something you don’t feel completely confident in. No matter how hard you try, you can’t convince yourself you feel great in something if you really don’t. It can be hard for you to feel confident if you’re not used to it, but you can develop it easily with these tips:
Fake it Until You Make it
If you’re not a naturally confident person, you can try to fake it until you make it. It’s a saying that has been around for a while, because it really does work. The idea is you get used to pushing negative thoughts from your mind, and instead replace them with confident thoughts. Tell yourself you feel great and that you’re confident, even if you’re not. Eventually, you might find that you begin to feel more confident as a natural result!
Only Wear Clothes You Really Love
You know those clothes that you just can’t resist when you see them? The ones you pick up and you just have to have? They are the clothes you really love. Ideally, all of your clothes will be of this nature, but it’s not unusual for people to buy clothes for the sake of it even if they don’t like them all that much. By ensuring that you only wear clothes you really love, you’ll feel great 24/7!
Know What Suits You
here’s nothing quite like wearing an outfit that suits you down to the ground. Something can suit you in lots of different ways, so I’ll make it more specific: make sure your outfit suits your body type, colouring, and personality. It sounds like a lot, but when you can find something that suits all 3 of those things, you’re going to look and feel amazing as a result!
Stop worrying About What Others Think
When you worry too much about what others think, you dull down your own creativity. You need to block out what you think they’ll say or think and instead listen to your own thoughts. How do you feel about this outfit? If you feel great about it, then there’s no need to think of others. If you love the way you love in hijab dresses, wear them. If you don’t like camel coats but everybody has one, don’t be afraid to stand out from the crowd. You won’t be everybody’s cup of tea, and that’s fine. Who wants to be the same as everybody else anyway?
Be Sure Before You Leave the House
You should never leave the house unsure of an outfit. Work out why you’re unsure and then go about altering it to make it look better. Perhaps you need to accessorize differently, or change your shoes. Whatever it is, make sure you’re certain it’s right before you leave.
Define Personal Style
Define your personal style and you’ll know exactly what you look and feel great in. The sooner you do this, the sooner you can go about creating outfits that suit you. Don’t wear outfits because they look great on somebody you know. You want to look like the best version of yourself, not a second rate version of them!
