You know that old saying, “Time flies when you are having fun.” That could not be more true for Jennifer Michelle host of WCCB News Rising Everyday Runway. When we first met last summer she was preparing to launch a segment that was truly unique to Charlotte. 24 shows later, we reflect back on what an incredible year this has been.
Me: I can’t believe a year has past already! What were some of your most exciting moments on the show in your first year?
Jennifer: My most exciting moment this year…That’s a hard one. I would have to say having my mom on the segment with me for our Magnificent Moms segment. Oh yeah, you were there too! It really did mean the world to me to have my mom there to get her makeup done, be styled and be the diva that she is.
Me: That was a fun segment! Somehow you continue to convince me to be on stage instead of just behind the scenes! Now that year one is under your belt, can you give us a little taste as to what we can expect for year 2?
Jennifer: For year 2 I want to personalize it more by sharing some of my experiences. I will also have more celebrities on, more topics for men and incorporate more of the modeling world to the segment.
Me: Wow! I am looking forward to it! Each segment, you are always fierce. Let’s talk about some of your favorite looks from the first year including beauty looks.
Jennifer: Hands down my favorite all time look was the Transformation Tuesday look. Greg created this gorgeous glam beauty look that was perfect with my ensemble from Saks Off 5th. The blue mini dress and stilettos were definitely my favorite look. Second I would say the beauty look Greg did for the Red Carpet segment where I featured local designers. I loved the lip, #LawrenceLip, because he created a custom color and took me outside of my box.
Me: Totally agree! That #LawrenceLip was everything! Besides doing Everyday Runway, people may not know you host a lot of fashion events in the area. Tell us about your involvement in the Charlotte area fashion community and beyond.
Jennifer: When I’m not doing the show I am hosting events, speaking to young women, and working on the scene of events. We can’t forget about my model coaching for models who reach out to me. I’m mentoring a couple of ladies now and get emails to coach on a regular basis. Educating and entertaining!
Me: How can someone contact you if they are interested in being a part of a future segment?
Jennifer: Everyone should email email@example.com. I’m always looking for fun, new, and interesting topics to cover.
You can catch Jennifer’s segment on Tuesday’s during the 8 o’clock hour on WCCB News Rising.
